Sarah Farmer to Blake Baker 


This Indenture made this Twenty Third 
day of September in the year of our 
Lord  one Thousand Seven Hundred and 
Ninty Six, Between Sarah Farmer of the State of North 
Carolina  County of Bertie of the one part & Blake Baker 
of the Same State and County  Planter  Other part  Witnesseth 
that the said Sarah Farmer for and in the Consideration of 
the Sum of Twenty Pounds Prock money to me in hand paid 
by Blake Baker, whereof the receipt I do acknowledge 
my Self there with fully Satisfied  Contented & paid having 
Given  Granted  Bargained and Sold  Alined  Conveyed and con=
firmed and by these presents do fully  freely & absolutely 
Give  Granted  Bargained and Sold  aline  Conveyed and Con=
firme unto the said Blake Baker  his heirs  Exors and Adminis=
trators and assigns forever a certain Tract or parcel of land 
lying and being in the County of Bertie, one Third part of the 
Land and plantation where on Joseph Farmer formerly 
lived  To have and to Hold the said Land and Premises all & 
Every apperternances thereunto beloning to him the said 
Blake Baker  his heirs  Exors  Admors and assigns forever 
and I the sd Sarah Farmer me  my heirs  Exeros  Admors & 
assigns do warrant  secure and defend The said Land and 
premises from the Just Claim Right or Title of any 
other Person or Persons whatsoever, In Witness whereof 
I have hereunto set my hand fixed my Seal the day and 
date above writen                      her

Blake Baker, was proved in open Court by the Oath of 
Wm. Farmer one of the Subscribing Witnesses and ordered 
to be Registered,
