N.C. 1746 Deed book G page 18-19 Know all men by these presents that I JOSEPH SCOTT of Bertie County of North Carolina Planter for and in consideration of the sum of Four Pounds Current money of Virg. To me paid in hand before the ensealing hereof well and truly paid by WILLIAM KNIGHT of Bertie County in the aforesaid province Plantation the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge myself therewith fully satisfied and contented and thereof and of every part of parcell thereof. Do acquit exonerate and discharge the said JOSEPH SCOTT his heirs, executors and administrators forever by these presents have given, granted, bargained, sold, delivered, conveyed and confirms and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell ????? convey and confirm unto him the said JOSEPH SCOTT his heirs executors administrators assigns. Two certain tracts of land or plantations as hereafter described that is to say one certain plantation lying and being in Bertie County that WILLIAM GOODMAN built on and settled containing by estimation fifty acres be it more or less and one tract of land containing three hundred and fifty acres more or less as by Patent granted to the said WILLIAM GOODMAN , dated this tenth day of February anno dom 1746 Bought as follows: beginning at a ??? in Pottacasy, THOMAS BONNERS corner, then along his side N. 30 W 200 to the center of Two Red Oaks and Pine Thomas Browns corner, then along his line N 80 Pole to a red oak, then N and E + 106 Pole to a white oak THOMAS BROWNS Corner then the said course 24 pole to BELLS BRANCH then down the various course of the said branch to a maple in AARON ODOMS line then along his line 84 pole to a white oak on Pottacasey thence the courses of the Pottacasy to the first station. To have and to hold the said granted bargained premises with all the appurtences, priviledges comodities thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said WILLIAM KNIGHT his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever to his and their only proper use benefit and ?????? forever and the said JOSEPH SCOTT for me my heirs executors, administrators do covenant promise and grant to ??? with the said WILLIAM KNIGHT his heirs assigns before the ensealing hereof Iam the true sol and lawfullowner of the abovepresises and am lawfully seized of posession of the saime in my pwen proper right as a good and perfect absolute Estate of Inheritance in Fee Simple I have in my self good rightfull power and lawfull authority togrant bargain sell convey and confirm the said bargained premises and that the said WILLIAM KNIGHT his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents lawfully peaceably and quitely have hold use occupy possess and enjoy these demised bargained presmises with the appurences freely and clearly.
