Know ye that we for and in consderation of the sum of fifty shillings for every 100ac of land hereby grant paid into our Treasury by Martin GARDNER Sr have given granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said Martin GARDNER Sr a tract of land containing 50ac lying and being in our county of Bertie in Rocquist Pocoson, Beginning at Thomas VEALS corner in Wm FREEMANS line a maple then along said VEALS line North 75° West 167 poles to the center of four trees, two maple and a red oak and poplar in William RUFFINS line then South 47° West along said RUFFINS line 30 poles to his corner a black gum then along his line South 12° East 74 poles to a forked sweet gum in Wm RUFFINS corner in Robert or Wm FREEMANS line then along said FREEMANS line South 73° East 170 poles to the first station. As by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods, waters, mines, minerals, herediaments and appurtenance to the said land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Martin GARDNER and his heirs assigns forever, yielding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise our General Assembly from time to time shall direct provided allways that the said Martin GARDNER Sr shall cause this grant to be resgisterd in the Registar office of our said county of Bertie within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of none affect. In Testimony wherof we have caused these our letters to be made patent of our great seal be hereunto affixed. Beginning at a Cypress, Noah HINTON, corner adn Thomas MIRES then South 83° East 55 poles to William TURNERS corner and William WILLIAMS a gum, then North 65° East along sd WILLIAMS line eighty pole to a forked gum, then North 42° East 150 poles along sd WILLIAMS line to a poplar in John BONDS line on Cross Swp, then North 15° East 114 poles to the center of two gums and a chesnut oak and sd Swp, then North 15° West 76 polse to a water oak, Ezekial WIMBERLY corner then South 85° West along the said MIRES line to the first station. As by the plat here___? annexed doth appear together with all woods, waters, mines, minerals, herediments and appurtances to the said land belonging or appertaining. to hold to the said Martin GARDNER Sr his heirs assigns forever yeilding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our general assembly from time to time shall direct. provided allways that the said Martin GARDNER Sr shall cause this grant to be registered in the Register Office our our said coutny of Bertie within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the land shall be void and of none affect.
