Know ye that I Thomas HARRELL of the county of Bertie and Province of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and thirty three pounds six shillings and eight pence proclamation money to me in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery hereof by William FREEMAN of Norfolk Town and colony of Virginia the receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge and myself thesewith fully satisfyed and of every part and parcel these of do exonerate acquit and discharge the said William FREEMAN his heirs Exe and Adm forever by these presents have given, granted, sold, aliened, conveyed, confirmed and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give, grant, bargain, sale, alien, convey and confirm unto the said William FREEMAN his heirs and assigns forever one certain messuage or tract of land and plantation situate lying and being in the county of Bertie and Province aforesaid on the SES on Uneroy Marsh and bounded as followith. Beginning at a white oak standing by or nigh Uneroy Marsh, thence along a roe of marked trees to a maple a corner tree then along a roe of marked trees to a corner tree of Owing McDANIELLS a black oak and white oak, thence along Owing DANIELLS line to a black oak a corner tree of James SMITHS and William EASON thence along a roe of marked trees to a corner a hickory in PARKERS line then along PARKERS line to a hicklory, William EASONS and Joseph HARRELLS corner tree so down the pond side untill it comes to the marsh to the center then along the center down the marsh so along PARKERS to a lightwood stump standing by the marsh side so along PARKERS line to an island in the marsh thence along PARKERS line until it comes to the shoar and meets with Edward HARRELLS former line then to the first station, consisting of three hundred and seventy acres of land be the same more or less, being part of a patent formerly granted to William EASON bearing date the forth day of August one thousand seven hundred and twenty three and part of another patent granted the said EASON bearing date the first day of March one thousand seven hundred and twenty one, and part of a deed of sale that the said William EASON had of James PARKER bearing date the twelfth day of July one thousand seven hundred and twenty two. To have and to hold the said land and premises with all and singular the priviledges thereof, houses, edifices, buildings, orchards, gardens, commons, pasturer, water and water courses, profits, commoditys, timber, trees, woods and underwood with all priviledges whatsoever fishing, fowling, hunting, and hawking to the same belonging or any wise appertaining to him the said Thomas HARRELL, his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their only use benefitt and behoof forever, and I the said Thomas HARRELL for me my heirs Exe adn Adm do covenant, promise and grant to and with the said William FREEMAN his heris and assigns, that before the ensealing hereof I am the true sole and lawfull owner of the above bargained premises and am lawfully possessed thereof by a will made and bearing date of ___ Edward HARREL my father and that for my own use aliens as a good, perfect and absolute Estate of Inheritance and have my self a good right and full power and lawfull authority to grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm the said bargained premises in manner above said and the the said William FREEMAN his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by virture of these presents lawfully, peaceable and quietly have hold, use, occuply, possess and enjoy the said demised and bargained premises with the appurtenance thereof free and freely clear and clearly acquited, exonerated and dischareged of and from all and all manner of formerly gifts, grants, bargains, sales, leases, mortages, willss, entails, joyntures, doweries, judgments, executions, incumberances and I the said Thomas HARRELL and Easter my wife, do further convenant and bind ourselves, our heirs and assigns firmly be these presents to warrant and defend the said William FREEMAN his heirs andassigns in quiet and peacable possession in all and singular the said premises against any just or lawfull claim of any person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof we the said Thomas HARRELL and Easter HARRALL his wife have hereunto sett our hands and afixed our seals this twenty third day of Febrary one thouseand seven hundred and sixty one, and Easter HARRELL signed and deliverd this twenty fifth day of February 1761.
