All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Lisagraham32@aol.com Lisa Graham http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/bertie.htm Harrell et Uxar to Lee Book L, Page 83 Bertie County To all Christian people to whom these presents shall come greeting in our Lord God everlasting, Now know Ye that I James Harrell of Bertie County in North Carolina, Planter, with the free consent of JUDITH, My wife for divers good causes and considerations us moveing thereunto but more especially for the valuable Consideration of twelve pounds, Ten Shillings to us in hand paid by Henry Lee of the County of said Taylor, and we do acknowledge ourselves fully satisfied and content therewith we do therefore bargain, sell, alienate and forever make over and confirm unto the aforesaid Henry LEE to him, his heirs and assigns forever a Certain tract or parcel of land lying in Bertie County in the Fork of CASHY and Walton, being part of a tract or parcel of land foremerly surveyed and pattented by THOMAS RHODES and since sold from one to another, will it came to the hands of my father-RICHARD HARRELL of Perquimans County and from Him to Me, James Harrell, by free gift & all of my part that lyes on the West side of Boplar Branch to Henry LEE, to him, his heirs, for ever beginning at a red Oak on the West side of Boplar Branch thence near East beginning at a Red Oak on the West side of Boplar Branch, thence near east a row of Marked trees to a pine, a corner tree thence near north East a row of marked trees to a white Oak in the head line near Watton Swamp Thence N. 50 W. Headline 44 Pole to a red Oak Corner tree thence near West a row of marked trees to the first Station being estimation Seventy Four Acres, be the same more or less, together with all houses, gardens, orchards, fencing, timber and timber trees thereon standing lying or growing with all easements profits and appurtenances to the same premises and Every Part and Parcel thereof to all intents and purposes unto him the said Henry Lee, his heirs and assigns forever from the Day of Date hereof in as full and ample a manner as any lands is holder in this government and we the above said do Warrant and maintain in every article and case as is above except as to defend the same from all manner of person or persons whatsoever laying any just Right Title or claim to the above said Land and premises but to be free and clear from all manner incumbrances whatsoever in of and from the beginning of the World to this Date Present, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators firmly in the sum of Sixty pounds Sterling money of Great Britain in Witnesses whereof we have hereunto set our hands and fixed our seals this 13th Day of January in the year bearing Date 1767, James Harrell L.S.
