Halsey State of North Carolina to Bertie County J. H. Hardy This indenture made this the first day of February 1869 between & Cullen A. Halsey of the first part and John H. Hardy and John Perry of the second part witnesseth that I the said Cullen Halsey for and consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty two 20/100 dollars to me in hand paid by the said John H. Hardy and John Perry the receipt of which are hereby acknowledged have bargain sold aliened (?) and conveyed and by this Indenture do bargain sell alien (?) and convey unto the said John H. Hardy and John Perry their heirs an assigns a certain tract of land lying & being in Bertie County being the tract upon which the said Halsey now resides adjoining of Wm D Perry, Hunter Newbern and others containing by estimate one hundred and fifty acres be the same more or less also I do sell my horse my cattle Hogs My household and Kitchen furniture for and consideration of the presence to the said John H. Hardy and John Perry, their heirs and assigns a good an simple title to above described land to the said John H.
