William Hoggard to David Rice

State of No. Carolina
Bertie County

This Indenture made this 13th day of October in the year of our Lord One
thousand eight hundred and thirty between William Hoggard of the one part and
David Rice of the other part, both of the State and County above mentioned. 
Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of Three hundred Dollars to
me in hand paid, before the Sealing of these presents the receipt of which I do
hereby acknowledge I William Hoggard of the first part do give grant bargain and
Sell and by these presents hath given granted bargained and Sold unto the Said
David Rice of the Second part a certain tract or parcel of land situate and
being in the County of Bertie and State above written.  Situate as follows,
commencing at a maple at a corner of William Spivey's land thence running South
to the road, thence along the road to Dead Pine Branch, thence down said Branch
to Guys Hall Swamp, down Said Swamp to Thomas Cobb's corner, thence a northeast
course to Sd Alsey Cowand's line, thence along Co!
wand's line to Cowand & Spivey's corner thence along Spivey's line to the first
station, Containing by estimation 150 acres more or less which I the Said
Hoggard do for myself, my heirs and asigns forever defend against the lawful
claim or claims of all person or persons whomsoever to the Said Rice his heirs
and asigns forever.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 13 day of oct 1830
