Bertie County  } 
Know all men by these presents that I, THOMAS HOLDER, of the
County & province afs'd, planter, for & in consideration of
the sum of one pound Ten Shillings current money of Virginia
to me in hand paid before the ensealing & delivery hereof by
JOHN SPRING of the County & province afs'd, planter, do
give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey & confirm & by
these presents have have given, granted, bargained, sold,
aliened, convey'd & confirm'd unto him the s'd JOHN SPRING
his heirs & assigns for ever one cerain Tract of Land
containing one hundred acres more less, Situate, lying &
being in the County & province afs'd On the N. East side of
Cashy Swamp: Butted and bounded as follows (viz.) Beginning
at a marked gum in the mouth of the Watering Hole Branch
running up the branch to the head line and along the head
line to WILLIAM LEVINER'S line, along LEVINER'S line to
Cashy Swamp thence to the first station___________ To have
and to hold the above S'd granted & bargained premises with
all the appurtenances, previleges & commodities to the same
belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd JOHN
SPRING his heirs & assigns for ever ~~ And further I the
said THOMAS HOLDER do bind my Self my heirs Ex'rs Ad'rs to
warrent & defend the above sale & premises unto him the S'd
JOHN SPRING his heirs & assigns for ever, against the
Lawfull Claims & Demands of any person or persons
whatsoever, free & clear, freely & clearly from all manner
of incumberances of what kind or nature soever, his
Majesty's & the Earl of Grandvile's Quitrents & arrears only
Excepted__________ In Witness whereof I have set my hand
this 15th day of November in the year of our Lord 1749. - -
