Know all men by these present that we Asa HOLLOWELL and Ann HOLLOWELL, my wife
for the consideration of one hundred and thirty dollars [$130] rec'd of THOMAS
VEALE, to us in hand paid have bargained sold and conveyed unto THOMAS VEAL one
tract or parcel of land to him his heirs and assigns it being the thirds of land
of John Gardner dec'd as my wife Ann Hollowell dower former relict of the said
John Gardner, dec'd.  hereby warrant and defend the said land during my wife's
life time  from any person or person from laying any right title or claim to the
s'd land and houses thereof in witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands
and seals the 13th Jan'y 1796.

NOTE:  I believe this Ann is the wife of John Gardner (1720-1790). John's Administration was by Cader Powell Feb 17, 1790.  John's land is divided Aug 1791 to his 10 sons.  "Mrs. Gardner" received 1/3 of the land adj Veal, Isaac Gardner, Long Island, Martin Gardner and Mes Gardner, making 143 acres for her share of the tract of 440 acres on the north side of Rocquist Swamp. "Money was allowed the widow for supporting and burying two deceased children, one aged 30 months and the other aged eighteen months.  Asa Hollowell was appointed guardian of the orphan Nancy Gardner, May 6, 1793.
