Howcot to Barlow

This indenture made this 7th day of November Anno Domino 1754 between 
Edward Howcot of Bertie County in the province of North Carolina, planter, 
in the one part and George Barlow, merchant, for and in consideration of 
the sum of one hundred pounds current money . . . in hand paid by said 
George Barlow . . . land lying in Bertie Co., being part of the estate of 
Wm. Downing; late of Boston, and sold to Edward Howcott, father of said 
Edward, by Mary Howcott relict. of John Howcott and heir at law to the 
above Wm. Downing.

Beginning at the mouth of the Mile Creek . . . up the line of sd. Creek to
Firy Branch . . . marked pine on Wm. Beacham's line . . . Wm. Hooker's line 
. . . Chowan River . . .100 acres
