File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Lorene Rambo hocott@aol.com ========================= Edward Hocutt to James Hinton Deeds of Bertie County, Book G, p. 436 North Carolina To all People to whom these Presents shall come Greeting and Know Ye that I Edward Hocutt of Bertie County in the Province of North Carrolina Yeoman for and in consideration of the Sum of eighty Pounds current money of Virginia to me in hand paid by James Hinton Junior of the County aforesaid Planter the Receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge Have Bargained and Sold and by these Presents do fully freely and absolutely Give Grant Bargain Sell Allien, enfrosse, Release, confirm assign Transfer and sett over unto the said James Hinton Junior his heirs and assigns for ever one certain messuage Plantation and Devidend of Land situate and lying and being in Bertie County aforesaid upon the West side of Ephram Hunters Mills Pond containing by estamation one hundred and Sixty acres of Land be the same more or less butted and bounded as follows to Wit: Begining at the north of Vixes branch runing up the said Branch its varyous courses to the mouth of a large Botom to a Gum thence along a line of marked trees varyous courses to Joseph Wynns line down the said Wynns line to the wild Cat Gat to Mary Hocutts line thence on the said Mary Hocuts line to Ephram Hunters line thence runing up the said Hunter's Mill Pond to the first Station. To have and to hold the aforesaid messuage of Land plantation of Devidend of Land Bargained and Sold as aforesaid and all and singular the rights Priviledges Comodities Hereditaments appurtenances and appendants there unto belonging or in any way wise appertaining unto him the said James Hinton Junior his heirs and assigns forever in Fee Simple absolutly free from all incumbrances whatsoever, except the quit rents that is due from the 5th day of March Anno Domino 1748 and the Quit rents hereafter incruing in as full and ample manner to all intents and purposes as the most learned in the Law can Devise Further I the said Edward Hocutt for myself my heirs executors and administrators Do Covenant and engage to and with the said James Hinton Junior and his Heirs and assigns to Warrant and Defend the said Land and Premises and appurtances unto the said James Hinton Junior his heirs and assigns foreve against the lawfull claim of all other Persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof I the said Edward Hocutt have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this tenth day of February 1750/51. Ed.
