Clark (Gover) dec’d and James Wmson, administrator to the said will both of Bertie Precinct, we the said Jonathan Taylor and James Wmson for and in consideration of the sum of forty pds, to John Colson of Bertie Prct. planter and divers other causes & considerations we thereunto moving— a tract of land on the south side of Roegeris Creek, being part of a tract of land patented by Luke Mezell and by him conveyed by deed to Timothy Truelove and by the said Truelove again conveyed to Geo. Bertie Co Db E, page 54, deed date (11 Nov 1736, proved Nov Ct 1735), James Wood, Precinct of Bertie, Gent, to Abraham Carnal, (Sen), Upper Parish of Nansemond Co, Va for 110 pds, VA, a tract on the south side of Moratock River in the Precinct of Edgecombe containing 640 acres beginning at a cypress standing in the River Pocoson below the tract running the south 70 west 320 poles to the outer of three pines then north 12 west 320 poles to the center of two red oaks and a black oak then north 70 east 320 poles to a cypress standing in the River Pocoson then down the River Pocoson to the first station, which land the said James Wood formerly bought of John Williams as may appear by deed dated 16 Dec 1728, and another parcel containing 200 acres in aforesaid precinct of Edge.
