Bertie County NC Deed Book George Kittrell to Bird Hubbard 1792 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Will Cooper wcooper@cot.net http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/bertie/deeds/kittrell.txt Bertie Register of Deeds DEED Book P p. 352-353 Indenture - George Kittrell to Bird Hubbard Bertie County NC 13 March 1792 Kittrell } This Indenture made this 13th Day of March in the year of to } our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two, Hubbard } Between George Kittrell of the County of Bertie and state of North Carolina of the one part and Bird Hubbard of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth; That the said George Kittrell for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen pounds Current money of the said state in hand paid to the said George Kittrell before the sealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt of which the said George Kittrell doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully satisfied and paid, hath Granted Bargained sold aliened Enfeoff'd and confirmed and by these presents doth Grant Bargain sell alien enfeff and confirm unto him the said Bird Hubbard his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of Land containing by estimation five acres be it the same more or less lying and situate at a landing on Rocquist Creek called the Hare Landing in the County and State aforesaid Beginning at Collins' and Stranhon(?)'s Corner a white oak standing on the side of a Branch then down the Branch to a pine, thence Down the various courses of the Branch to Rocquist Creek, thence Down the Creek to a Gum from thence out to a Holley on the high land, from thence along a line of mark'd trees to the first station. To have and to hold the above five acres of Land with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said Bird Hubbard his heirs and assigns and to the only proper use of him the said Bird Hubbard his heirs and assigns forever and the said George Kittrell for himself his heirs & assigns doth Covenant & agree to and with the said Bird Hubbard his heirs and assigns that the said George Kittrell now is the true lawful and Rightful owner of all and singular the land and premises first above mentioned and hath Good Right and lawful authority to sell & convey the same to him the said Bird Hubbard his heirs & assigns forever according to the true intent & meaning of these presents, and also he the said Bird Hubbard his heirs & assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times hereafter Peacably and quietly have hold posses & enjoy all & singular the Land and premises above mentioned with the appurtenances Thereunto Belonging, without the let, Trouble Hindrance or denial of him the said George Kittrell his heirs and assigns or any other persons whatsoever and furthermore I the said George Kittrell for myself my heirs Executors and administrators doth covenant and engage the above Devised premises unto him the said Bird Hubbard his heirs and assigns forever against the Lawful claim or Demand of any person or persons whatsoever hereafter to warrant secure and Defend by these presents.
