"North Carolina, Bertie County}  

Know all men by these presents that I WILLIAM LOVINA of the
county and province aforesaid, Planter, for and in
consideration of the sum of Thirty Pounds good and lawfull
money to me in hand paid before the insealing and delivery
hereof by ELISHA HOLDER of the county & province aforesaid,
Planter, Have given ganted bargained sold aliened conveyed
and confirmed and by these presents do freely fully and &
absolutely give grant bargain sell alien convey and confirm
unto him the said ELISHA HOLDER his heirs and assigns for
ever, one certain Tract or Parcil of Land and Plantation
thereon the said WILLIAM LOVINA now Liveth containing by
estimation one hundred and fifty acres, more or less,
situate, lying and being on the North side of Cashie Swamp
in Bertie County Butted and Bounded as followeth (that is to
say) Beginning in Cashia Swamp at the mouth of Reedy Branch,
runing thence THOMAS HOLDER's line to a pine, a corner,
runing thence HERBERT PRITCHARD's line to CADER CHERRY's
line, thence along Cherry's line to Cashy swamp and thence
down the various courses of the swamp to the first station.
To have and to hold the said land with all appurtenances,
priviledges and commodities to the same belonging or in any
wise appertaining to him the said ELISHA HOLDER his heirs
executors administrators and assigns for ever and further I
the said WILLIAM LOVINA do covenant promise grant and agree
to and with the said ELISHA HOLDER his heirs and assigns for
ever that before the insealing and delivery hereof I am the
true sole and lawfull owner of the said land and have in
myself good right full power and lawfull authority to
bargain and sell the same in manner as abovesaid and further
I the said WILLIAM LOVENIA do bind myself my heirs executors
administrators and assigns to warrent and defend the said
land and premisses unto him the said ELISHA HOLDER his heirs
and assigns for ever free and clear freely and clearly from
all & every former Lets suits deeds wills mortgages leases
jointers intails dowries and all manner of incumberments of
what kind or nature so ever, his Majestys and the Earl of
Granville Quitrents only Excepted. As Witness given under my
hand and seal the 20th day of September one thousand seven
hundred ad sixty six.  WILLIAM LOVINA [his mark]

Bertie County sst. Sept. Court 1766. The within Deed was
acknowledged in due form of law by the witness mentioned
