McCollum This Indenture made the seventeenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Twelve, between James McGlauhon of the one part, and Edward Bird of the other part, Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars to the said James McGlauhon in hand paid the receipt whereof he does hereby acknowledge, by these presents the said James has granted, bargained sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents, doth grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Edward Bird and his heirs forever one undivided third part of a tract of Land lying and being in the County of Bertie & State of North Carolina, containing Three hundred acres butted and bounded as follows, Beginning at the new road, thence South22East one hundred and fifty six poles to Mirey Branch, thence down the various courses of the said brance to Ducking run, thence down the various courses of the said run to Spring brance, thence up the said branch to the main road leading from Cashoke to Colrain, thence along the said road to the newroad, thence along the newroad to the first station. To have and to hold the said one third part of the said tract of Land containing Three hundred acres, with all & singular the appurtenances in any way belonging to the said one third to the said Edward Bird and his heirs and assigns forever, th the only proper use and behoof of him the said Edward and his heirs forever, And the said James McGlauhon for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant promise and grant to and with the said Edward his heirs and assigns by these presents, that he has a good and indefeasible estate in fee simple of and in the premises hereby bargained and sold and that the said premises now are and forever shall remain clear and free from all former gifts grants bargains sales judgements executions and incumbrances whatsoever, done made committed or suffered by him the said James or any other person or persons whatsoever. And that the said James McGlauhon, all and singular the premises bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said Edward his heirs and assigns against him the said James and his heirs and and (sic) all & singular each & every person or persons shall warrant and forever defend by these presents, In witness whereof he has hereunto set his name and afixed (sic) his seal the day and year above written.
