McCollum - 3 Sep 2000 This Indenture made the 28th day of March in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Two, between Elisha McGloham of Hertford County and State of North Carolina of the one part and Selah Perry Daughter of the Said Elisha McGlogham (sic) of the other part. Witnesseth, that I the Said Elisha McGlaughon as will for and in Consideration of the natural love and effection (sic) which he hath and Beareth unto the said Selah Perry his Daughter. A(nd) also for the better maintainance (sic) preforment of the Said Selah Perry, hath given, granted aliened, enfeoffed and confirmed, and by these presents doth give, Grant, alien, enfeoff and Confirm unto the Said Selah Perry all that messuage or Tenements, Tract or Parcel of Land Lying and being in the County of Berie --- Beginning at a Post oak & maple Willifords corner thence S 46 E 458 poles to a pine a new made corner on the Road, thence down the road to the Great Branch, thence up the Courses of Said Branch to James Holloman Mill Dam, Thence on the Dam N 64 W 6 Pole thence N84 W 19 poles thence to a pine thence S 25 W 5 poles thence S74 W 70 poles thence S 60 W 74 poles to the Gum Branch a watter oak thence up the varios courses of Said Branch to a pine thence N 5 E 21 poles thence N 7 W 110 poles to a pine Stump and Red oak Odems corner, thence S 66 w 163 poles to the first Station Containing two hundred and Seventy Two & half acres more or Less, with all and Singular its appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appurtaining unto her the Said Selah Perry and her heirs forever first reservving my and my wifes life Estate in the said messuage Tenement Tract or parcel of Land to cultivate and to make Tar & Turpentine and after my and my wifes decese to vest in her the said Selah Perry and her heirs forever and I the Said Elisha McGloughon do for myself my heirs Executors and administrators or any person or persons Claiming under me, doth give grant and convey all the right Title Claim Interest or demand that I have unto the before mentioned Tract of Land and its appurtenances thereunto Belonging unto her the Said Selah Perry only reserving my and my wifes life Estate in the Same -- In Witness whereof I the Said Elisha McGloughen hath hereunto Set my hand and affixed his Seal the day and year first above written.
