This Indenture made the 10th day of November in the year of Our
Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty seven between Nathan
Mires one the first part & Janette Cobb of the second part -
both parties being of the state of North Carolina, Bertie
County.

Witnesseth that for and in consideration of fifty dollars to me
in hand paid by the said Janette Cobb, the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged by these presents, doth bargain, sell,
alien & convey one certain tract or parcel of land lying and
being in the county & state aforesaid supposed to contain by
estimation thirty acres more or less. Beginning at the great
oak being Coffields Corner near Capeharts Meeting House, thence
up the road that leads to Windsor to a light wood post a corner
thence a straight-line of new marks lies to W. G. Oxley's line,
thence down his line to Benj. Coffield's line thence along his
line to the first station.   To Have and to Hold to the said
Janette Cobb, Her Heirs, Executors and assigns forever with all
the Right, Titles & Privileges thereunto belonging, and I the
said Nathan Mires for Himself and His Heirs and assigns to
warrant and defend all manner of claims or claims of all
persons whatsoever.

In witness thatfore I have hereunto set my hand and seal on the
date above written.
