Myers to Thomas T. Rice This Indenture made entered into the Twenty Eight of September one thousand eighteen hundred and sixty between Lawrence O. Myers of the County of Bertie State of North Carolina of the first part and Thomas T. Rice of the same County and State of the second part: Witnesseth that the said Lawrence O Myers for and inconsideration of the sum of one hundred and Twenty five dollars paid or secured to paid before the delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargain sold and conveyed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Thomas T. Rice his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of Land Situate lying and being in the county aforesaid Containing Forty Three Acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows (viz) beginning at the Road at the old black jack stump at said Rice's corner thence along a line of marks trees to Jesse Bunch's corner in a Pine thence a strate course to a small branch thence down the run of said branch to Mulberry branch thence along the run of said branch to the Meeting House Road thence up said Road to the Outlaw Land now belonging to the said Myers thence along the said Myers's line to the main Road thence down said Road to the first station to have and to hold the bargained tract of Land to the said Thomas T. Rice his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof and I the said Lawrence O Myers do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Thomas T. Rice his heirs and assigns that I will forever warrant and defend the title to the said bargained premises to the said Thomas T. Rice his heirs and assigns against the lawful title claim or demand of ever person or persons whatsoever in testimony whereof of I the said Lawrence O Myers have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year first above written witness in the presents of L..
