Bertie COUNTY NC Deed Ralph Outlaw to Holly Grove Church Trustees 1825 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Lynn McCarthy Lcmccarthy@aol.com http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/bertie.htm Bertie County North Carolina Deed Book BB Page 409 This Indenture made this the 10th day September in the year of our Lord 1825 Between Ralph Outlaw of the County of Bertie and State of N Carolina of the one part and Richard Poindexter, David Pruden, and William Spivey of the same state and County trustees for the Baptist Church caled the Holly Grove Church, or the other witnesseth - That the said Ralph Outlaw for and in consideration the sum of one Dollar to him in hand paid before the sealing and delivering of these presents, by the said Poindexter, Pruden, & Spivey, trustees as aforesaid, the receipt whereof he doth hereby, acknowledge; hath granted, bargained for, sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed unto the said Poindexter, Pruden and Spivey, and their successors trustees for and in behalf of the aforesaid Church, for there (the Churche's) sole and Particular use for ever, a certain tract of Land upon which their meeting house, called Holly Grove meeting house, now stands, Lying and being in the County of Bert! ie, Containing by estimation two acres be the same more or less - Beginning at a red oak on the N side of the road Leading from Windsor to the Pitch Landing and near the Loosing swamp, being a corner, running thence near an E coast to a post-oak corner tree, thence about S.E. to a pine being a corner tree, thence a S course to a maple standing in a Branch, thence S.W. along a marked line to a red oak standing on the side of the said Road thence along the road to the first station: together with all right title interest, and &c whatsoever of the said Ralph Outlaw in and to the said tract and parcel of Land and its premises aforesaid, together with all the appertenance thereunto belonging, To have and to hold the said Poindexter Pruden, and Spivey and their Successors as trustees for the above mentioned Baptist Church and their Successors forever And the said Ralph Outlaw shall and will for himself and his heirs warrant and defend the said tract of Land with the premise un! to the said Poindexter, Spivey & Pruden as trustees aforesaid and their sucessors against the Lawfull claim and title of each and every person Whomsoever - In witness whereof the said Outlaw hath unto these presents set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written - Signed sealed and delivered in the presents of Elisha Hogard x Joseph Moor Ralph Outlaw (Seal) State of No Carolina Bertie Co Court Nov Term 1825 This deed from Ralph Outlaw to Richard Poindexter, David Pruden & Wm Spivey was proved in open Court by the oath of Elisha Hoggard one of the subscribing Witnesses thereto and order to be registered - E N Rhodes Clk ======================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be freely used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
