Witnesseth that the said John Perry for and in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty Pounds Proc. Money to him in hand paid by the said Abial Perry, the receipt whereof he Doth hereby acknowledge, he the said John Perry hath granted & sold, Aliened, & Confirmed & by these presents do bargain, sell, alien & Confirm unto the sd Abial Perry his Heirs & Assigns forever, One Hundred & Sixty Acres of land more or less lying & being in North Carolina & in Bertie County & on the South Side of Chowan River Bounded as follows/ To wit / Beginning at the Mouth of Herring Run on Chowan River thence up the said run according to the patent One Mile formerly belonging to Thomas Yates deceased, bounded on the said line, thence along the line of the said Thomas Yates to a pine Abraham Perry's Corner Tree, thence along a line of Marked trees to a pine standing on the River thence up the River to the first station. The said parcel or Dividend of Land being part of a Tract of land which Thomas Ryan Deceased left by Will to his Daughter Mary, and also the Reversion & Reversions, Remainder & Remainders, Rents & Services of the said land & premises and every part & parcel thereof. To have and to hold all & singular the said land above mentioned & Every part and parcel thereof, with appurtenances unto the said Abial Perry his Heirs & Assigns forever, & the said John Perry for himself his heirs, the said land & premises & Every part & parcel thereof and against all & every other person or persons whatsoever the said Abial Perry his heirs and Assigns shall & will warrant & for ever Defend by these presents.
