George Ryan to Abraham Perry

North Carolina Bertie County. To all Christian people to whom these presents 
Shall come greeting . Know ye that I, George Ryan of the County & Province 
aforesaid Planter have given granted bargained sold conveyed & confirmed and 
do by these presents freely give grant bargain sell convey & confirm unto 
Abraham Perry, Shoemaker, of the County & Province aforesaid to him his heirs 
& assigns forever, one certain tract or Parcel of Land. Situate lying and 
being in the County & Province aforesaid. Beginning on James Campbells Line 
formerly George Goulds thence along his Line to a pine in the said Abraham 
Perrys line which was formerly Thomas Ryans Line thence along his line to 
Thomas Yeats former Line to a gum in the Gum Branch thence along the said 
Branch to Include Two hundred & Fifty acres it being for the Consideration of 
Thirty Pounds Proclamation Money to me in hand paid the Receipt whereof I do 
hereby acknowledge myself therewith fully satisfied & Contented. To have and 
to hold the said granted and bargained Premises with all the appurtenances 
Priviledges & Commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining 
to him the said Abraham Perry his heirs Exers. Admrs. or assigns forever to 
his & their only proper use benefit & behoof forever and I the said George 
Ryan for me my heirs Exers. Admrs. do covenant promise & grant to & with the 
said Abraham Perry his heirs & assigns that before the Insealing and delivery 
hereof I am the true sole & Lawfull owner of the above said bargained 
Premises and am Lawfully seized & possessed of the same in mine own proper 
right and have in my self full power & lawfull authority to sell convey & 
confirm the said bargained premises in manner and form aforesaid and further 
I the said George Ryan for myself my heirs & admrs. do Covenant & Ingage the 
above demised premises to him the said Abraham Perry his heirs & assigns 
forever against the Lawfull Claim or Demand of any person or persons 
whatsoever forever hereafter to Warrent & defend. In Witness whereof I the 
said George Ryan have hereunto set my hand & seal this Ninth day of February 
in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & Sixty Seven.~~

The within Deed was proved in due form of Law by the oath of John Crickett 
one of the subscribing Witnesses & ordered to be Registered.
