BERTIE COUNTY Deed Abraham Perry to Jeremiah Hallom-1775 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Zane Perry ZaneDPerry@hotmail.com Bertie County, North Carolina February 11, 1775 Deed Book M page 163 - 164 Abraham Perry to Jeremiah Hallom Know all men by the Presents that I Abraham Parry of Bertie in the Province of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty pounds proclamation money to me in hand paid before the Ensealing and delivery hereof by Jeremiah Hallom of the County and Province aforesaid have Given granted and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien convey and confirm unto him the said Jeremiah Hallom his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of Land containing my Estimation one hundred acres more or less situate lying and being in Bertie County aforesaid Butted and Bound as followeth. Beginning at an ash in Eastmore Swamp running a line of marked trees to an oak in Gum Branch thence up the Branch to a pine thence along a line of marked trees to an ash thence down the swamp to the first station. To have & to hold the said Land with all the appurtenances Priviledges and commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Jeremiah Hallom his heirs and assigns forever. And further I the said Abraham Perry do covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said Hallom his Heirs and assigns forever that before the ensealg. And delivery hereof I am the true sole and lawful owner of the said bargained premises and have in myself Good right full power and Lawful authority to Bargain & sell the same in manner as abovesaid and am lawfully seized and possessed of the same in my own good right and absolute inheritance in fee simple and further I the said Abraham Parry do bind myself my Heirs Executors and administrators to warrant and ever defend unto him the said Jeremiah Hallom his Heirs and assigns forever against the Lawful claims or demands of any person or persons free and freely clear and clearly from all incumbrances of what kind or nature soever his majesties & the Earle of Grandville Quit rents only excepted.
