BERTIE COUNTY Deed Benjamin Stone Sr. to Abraham Perry-1778 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Zane Perry ZaneDPerry@hotmail.com Bertie County, North Carolina March 4, 1778 Deed Book M page 371 Benjamin Stone Sr. to Abraham Perry This Indenture made this fourth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy eight between Benjamin Stone Senr. of Bertie County and State of North Carolina Planter of the one part and Abraham Perry of the County & State aforesaid Planter of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Benjamin Stone Senr. for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds proclamation money to him in hand paid the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully satisfied and paid Hath given granted Bargain'd Sold Convey'd and Confirm'd & by these Presents doth give grant Bargain sell Convey and Confirm unto the said Abraham Perry his heirs & assigns forever one certain tract or Parcell of Land Situate lying and being in Bertie County aforesaid containing three hundred and twenty acres (Being half of a Tract of Land granted to David Henderson by Pattent bearing date the first day of April 1720 and by said Henderson transferred to Samuel Onwin and by Samuel Onwin Transferr'd to David Atkins and David Atkins dying it fell by Heirship to David Sanderlin who sold it to the said Benjamin Stone Senr as by Deed bearing Date the nineteenth day of February 1762. Reference being had thereto will more fully appear and also all lands houses trees orchards Woods underwoods waters watercourses commodities and appurtenances whatsoever to the said Tract or Parcell of Land belonging or in anywise appertaining unto him the said Abraham Perry his heirs and assigns forever and all the Estate Right title Interest Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Benjamin Stone Senr of in and to the said Tract or Parcell of Land and every part thereof. To have and to hold the said Tract or Parcell of Land and all and singular other the premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto him the said Abraham Perry his heirs and assigns forever and the said Benjamin Stone Senr for himself his heirs executors administrators and assigns the said Tract or Parcel of land Premises and every part thereof free and clear of and from all Incumbrances whatsoever (Quit Rents Only Excepted) against him and his heirs and against all and every other Person or Persons whatsoever unto the said Abraham Perry his heirs & assigns shall & will warrant & forever defend by these presents.
