BERTIE COUNTY Deed Abraham Perry to Solomon Stone-1786 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Zane Perry ZaneDPerry@hotmail.com Bertie County, North Carolina February 16, 1786 Deed Book page Abraham Perry to Solomon Stone North Carolina State | This Indenture made this sixteenth of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and eighty six between Abraham Perry of Bertie County in the province or State aforesaid of the one part & Solomon Stone of the county and State aforesaid Planter of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Abraham Perry for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds current money of said State to him in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge & himself therewith fully satisfied, contented, and paid have granted, bargained, sold, and by these presents doth freely, fully, and absolutely give, grant, bargain, and sell, alien, convey, and confirm unto the said Solomon Stone his Heirs and assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of Land containing by Estimation one hundred and sixty acres, more or less, lying and being in Bertie aforesaid on the west side of Chowan River, butted and bounded as followeth ~ Beginning at a white oak on the bank of Chowan River, running thence the dividing line to William Meazell's line, then the said Meazell's Line to a corner Tree of Col. James Campbell's and thence the said Campbell's line to the said River and thence up the said River to the first Station. To have and to hold the said Land and plantation with all the appurtenances , priviledges, & commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining to him, the said Solomon Stone his hiers and assigns forever and further he, the said Abraham Perry, doth bind himself, his heirs, &c, to warrant and defend the said Land and premises unto him, the said Solomon Stone, his Heirs, &c, against the Lawfull claim or demand of any person or persons whatsoever, free and clear, freely and clearly from all Incumberances of what kind or nature soever, Quitrents only excepted. As witness he the said Abraham Perry has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
