Know ye that I, Abraham Perry of Martin County and State of North Carolina, Planter, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds current money to me in hand paid the receipt whereof, I hereby acknowledge and myself therewith fully satisfied, contented, and paid, have given, granted, and by these presents do freely, full, and absolutely give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey, and confirm unto Asenath Perry Robinson, her heirs and assigns forever, one certain Tract or parcell of land containing by estimation two hundred and seventeen acres, more or less, lying and being in Bertie aforesaid on the west side of the Eastermoste Branch of Salmon Creek, Beginning at a Gum in said Branch, thence running west 360 poles to a pine Instead of three live Oaks mentioned in a former Deed, thence north 100 poles to the center of three pines a corner of William Stones', thence running East 194 poles along Stones line to a live Oake a Corner, thence running North still along Stones' line to the said Eastermoste Branch of Salmon Creek thence down said Branch to the first Station. Which said Land is known by the mane of Mewburns (?) Old Fields, To have and to hold the said two hundred and seventeen acres of Land with all appertenances, priviledges, and commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the said Asenath Perry Robinson, her heirs and assigns forever. And further, I the said Abraham Perry do covenant, promise, grant and agree to and with the said Asenath Perry Robinson her heirs and assigns forever that before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof I am the true sole and lawfull Owner of said Land and have in myself, Good Rightfull power and Lawfull Authority to Bargain and Sell the same in manner as above said in fee and simple, and further, I, the said Abraham Perry, do bind myself my heirs, Executors and Administrators to warrant and ever Defend the said Lands unto her, the said Asenath Perry Robinson, her heirs and assigns forever against the Lawfull Claims or Demands of any Person or Persons whatsoever, free and clear from all incumbrances of what kind or nature soever, Quite Rents only excepted, In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 18th day of May 1787.
