Abraham Perry to Michael Capehart


To all Christian people to whom these presents shall come greeting. Know ye 
that I Abraham Perry of Bertie County in the State of North Carolina for and 
in Consideration of the sum of thirty Shillings Currency money to me in hand 
paid before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents By Michael Capehart 
of the County and State aforesaid have given granted bargained sold and by 
these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain, sell, 
alien, convey and Confirm unto him the said Michael Capehart one Lot or 
small parcel of Land Lying and being in Bertie on the west side of Chowan 
River and South side of Herring Run Swamp Containing one acre more or Less. 
Butted and bounded as followeth. Beginning at the Herring gut thence south 
to a pine thence west 140 yards to the Center of 3 red oaks and thence north 
40 yards to the Herring gut thence the said gut to the first Station.
To have and to hold the said Lot or tract of Land & premises with all 
appertinances Priviliges and Commodities to the same Belonging or in any 
wise appertaining to him the said Michael Capehart his heirs and assigns 
forever and further the said Abraham Perry do Covenant promise and agree to 
and with the said Michael Capehart his heirs and assigns forever that Before 
the Ensealing and Delivery hereof I am the true Sole and Lawfull owner of 
the said Bargained premises and have in my self good right full power and 
Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner as above said in 
fee Simple and further I the said Abraham Perry do bind myself my heirs 
Executors administrators to warrant and defend the said bargained premises 
unto him the said Michael Capehart against the Lawfull Claim or Demands of 
any person or persons whatsoever free and Clear from all Incumbrances of 
what kind or nature Quit Rents only Excepted as witness my hand and seal 
this 28th day of Febry 1786.
