His Excell’y John Lord Carteret  palatin etc. Do hereby give and grant unto 
John Cotton of our said County a Tract of Land containing 440 acres on the 
South Side of Cohunky Beaver Pond Bertie p’cinct beginning at a pine by the 
pond Side running So. 30 W’st. 240 po: To a red Oak So. 30 E’t. 320 po: to a 
pine No. 30 E. 200 pole to the pond Side along the pond to the first Station 
being due Etc.  

To have and to hold etc. Yielding and paying etc Yearly etc. the  Fee rent of 
one Shilling for every fifty acres etc   Given etc. the first Day of February 
1725.
