Richard Rice to David Watford

This Indenture made this twelfth day of May One thousand Eight
hundred & seventeen between Richard Rice of the State of NoCarolina
& County of Bertie of the one part, and David Watford of the before state
& County of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Richard Rice for and
in consideration of the Sum of One hundred & Sixty Dollars to him in
hand paid by David Watford have bargained sold and conveyed and by
these presents doth bargain sell & Convey unto David Watford a Certain
Tract or parcel of Land lying in the aforesaid State & County on Guyse
Hall Swamp beginning at the main run of Red bud Swamp at the white oak
Road and Running Down the main run Read Bud to the Main Run of Guise
Hall swamp thence Down the main Run to a Dividing line of marked Trees
between Richard Rice and Edward Rice, thence up the line of marked
Trees to the white oak Road, thence up the Road to the first station
containing fifty four acres be the same more or less.  To him the said
David Watford and his heirs forever I the said Richard Rice will warrant
and forever defend the Title to the above bargained premises against
any Legal Claim of all others, in Testamony of the above I have set my
hand & seal this 12th day of May the date above written
