David Rice to David Watford

This Indenture made this 6th day of September in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and thirty, between Rice of the one part, & David Watford
of the other part, both of the County of Bertie and State of North Carolina,
Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of Three hundred dollars to
him the said David Rice paid by the said David Watford before the sealing of
these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath given, granted,
bargained and sold, and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain & sell to
him the said David Watford his heirs and asigns forever, a certain tract of land
in Bertie County.  Beginning at James Tayloe's line, thence running an East
course along a line of marked trees to James Hoggard's line thence along said
Hoggard's line a North course to William Watford's line to a sweet gum and pine,
thence along sd Wm. Watford's line to a branch, thence along a line of marked
trees to James Tayloe's line a South course to !
the first station, containing by estimation Two hundred and sixty one acres be
the same more or less.  To have and to hold the above described land to him the
said David Watford and his heirs forever And the said David Rice doth for
himself. his heirs, executors Adms or asigns warrant and forever defend the
title to said land to him the said David Watford his heirs & asigns forever.

In witness whereof I have hereunto signed and sealed these presents this day and
year first above written.
