Know all men by these presents that I Joseph B. Ruffin of
the County of Bertie and State of N C in consideration of
the sum of three hundred dollars to me in hand paid the
receipt of which is hereby fully acknowledge have granted
bargain and sold and by these presents do grant bargain
sell and convey to Ruffin M. White of the County and
State aforesaid the following property one bay mare colt
one open buggy yoke oxen and one pair wheels twenty five
head of hogs, to have and to hold to him the said Ruffin
M. White his heirs and assigns executors and
administrators forever free and discharged of any and all
incumbrances whatsoever.  And for the better security of
the title hereby conveyd I the said Joseph B. Ruffin for
myself my heirs executors and administrators do warrant,
secure and forever defend the same from the lawful claim
of any and all persons whatsoever.  In testimony where of
I hereunto set my hand and seal this 10th day Dec 1859

This Bill of Sale from Joseph B. Ruffin to Ruffin M.
White was proved in open Court by the oath of J.A.J.
Askew the subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be
registered.
