Hays Deed Bertie County North Carolina Deed Book LL, Pages 495-496 Know all men by these presents, that I, Jos. B. Ruffin, of the County of Bertie and State of N. Carolina, of the first part and Jno. Wilson and W.D. Hays, of the said County and State, of the second part, for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and four dollars and fifty one cents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold and confirmed, and by these presents, do grant, bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said Jno. Wilson and W.D. Hays, a certain tract or parcel of land, lying and being in said County & State, containing by estimation three hundred and twenty three acres, more or less, bounded, as follows: by the lands of J.P. Freeman, Silas Hobbs and W.J. Pritchard. To have and to hold the above bounded premises with all their appartinances the said Jno. Wilson & W.D. Hays, their heirs and assigns forever. And I, the said Jos. B. Ruffin, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, do warran! t and defend the right and title of said land unto the said Jno. Wilson & W.D. Hays, their heirs and assigns forever, free and clear of all lawfull claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever.
