Ruffin on the first part and West Mizell in the second part both of the County of Bertie and Sate of North Carolina. Witnesseth that I the said Whitmel B. Ruffin for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and eighty one dollars and seventy three cents ($181.73) to me in hand served by the said West Mizell the receipt whereof is herby acknowledged in full be the said Ruffin both granted, bargained and sold and by thesse presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said West Mizell a certain piece, parcel or tract of land lying and being in said county and state bounded by the lands of Isaac P. Freeman, Silas Hobbs, John A. Outlaw, it being the land that said Ruffin purchased from Wright Mitchell and wife supposed to contain three hundred acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the above bounded premises with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said West Mizell his heirs Executors and Adm forever in fee simple free and discharged from any and all encumbrance whatsoever in as full and ample as the most learned in the law can desire and I the said Whitmel B. Ruffin for myself, my heirs, Executors and Adm forever warrant and defend unto the said West Mizell, a good and lawful right and title in and to said premises to him and his heirs forever.
