BERTIE COUNTY Deeds Smith,Silas to Wimberly,John-1784 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Cathy Farris cfassir@netdex.com M706 Silas SMITH to JohnWIMBERLY Bertie Co NC 1784 This indenture made this first day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four between Silas SMITH of No Carolina State in Bertie Count of the first part and John WIMBERLY of the same state and county aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that I the said Silas SMITH for and in consideration of teh sum of twenty four pounds lawful money of this state to him sd Silas SMITH in hand paid the receipt whereof he the said SMITH doth hereby acknowledge and doth lhereby for himself his heris Exe and Adm acquit the said John WIMBERLY his heirs and assigns of every fathering? of the said sum forever I have bargained, sold, aliened and confiremd and by these presents do bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said John WIMBERLY his lheirs and assgins forever one hundred acres of land with all buildings profits previledges advanatges thereto belonging or in lany wise appurtaining to have and to hold the said hundred acres of land be it more or less being in Bertie County as aforesaid, rounded by George HOUSE land on the Eastward bounds by a pine thence along the pattent line one hundred pole to a pine in the said line thence West 528 poles a line of marked trees to David HARRELL line deceased his line to a pine thence along the said line to the first station. Will all profits priviledges and advantages thereto belonging to him the said John WIMBERLY heirs and assigns forver and the said Silas SMITH and Sealey SMITH his wife hath within themselves legal right to sell the said land and profits and previledges therrto belonging and that the whole and every part thereof shall forever remain to said the said John WIMBERLY to him his heirs and assigns free and clear from all incumbrances and demands whatsoever in witness whereof I the said Silas SMITH and Sealey SMITH my wife each of us hand hereunto set our hands and seals.
