*James Taylor to James Rice Deed


This Indenture made this 21st day of November 1803 Between James
Taylor of the state of North Carolina & County of Bertie of the one part
and James Rice of the same state & County aforesaid of the other part,
Witnesseth that the Sd James Taylor for and in consideration of the Sum
of one hundred and one Silver dollars to him in hand paid by the Said Rice,
hath given granted bargained and sold unto him the Sd James Rice his
heirs & assigns forever one Certain tract, piece or parcel of Land Situated
lying and being in Said County Containing by estamation thirty one acres be
the same more or less, butted and bounded as followeth, _ Begining at the
Center of three pines James Taylors corner thence South 80, to, 12 pole,
thence East - 26 pole to the center of two pines and a Sweet gum thence
S.10.E, 110 pole along a line of new marked trees to a white Oake to a
branch thence down Sd to Wm. Hogard line two pines and a hicory thence
along the Said Rices line to the first station, _ To have and to hold unto him
the said James Rice his hiers and assigns forever, and I the Said James
Taylor will warrant secure and forever defend all the above bargained
premises unto him the Said James Rice his heirs and assigns forever___

Feby Term 1804  The within deed from James Tayloe to James Rice
was acknowledged in open court by the Said Tayloe and ordered to be
