Know ye that I Job Umphlet of the State of North Carolina and County of
Bertie for and in Consideration of the sum of Eighty pounds current money
of this state to me in hand paid by Abraham Harmon of the State and County
aforesaid the receipt whereof I do acknowledge and myself therewith
Satisfied Contented and paid thereof and of every part and parcell thereof
do Exonerate agnit and discharg him the said Abraham Harmon his heirs
Executors and administrators forever have given granted bargained Sold
alined converd and confirmed unto the said Abraham Harmon his heirs and
assigns forever and by these presents do fully and freely and absolutely
Give Grant Bargain Sell and Confirm unto him the said Abraham Harmon his
heirs and assigns forever one mesauage or certain Tract or Tracts of Land
Situated lying and being in the county of Bertie on the North Side of
Coneritrat porcoson Containing by Estimation two Hundred and fifty Acres be
the Same more or Less Buted and bounded as followeth Begining at a pophlar
in Coneritrat porcoson running thence an East course to a water oak a
Corner tre to Abraham Harmons line thence along the said Harmons line a
North course to a post Oak a corner tree to Jonas Rawles line thence along
the said Rawles line a west course to a post oak a corner tree thence by a
line of Marked trees a South course to the first Station To Have and to
Hold the said Granted and Bargained premises with all the appurtenances
Priviledges and commodities to the farm belonging or in any wise
appertaining unto him the said Abraham Harmon his heirs and assigns forever
to his only proper use benefit and behoff forever and I the said Job
Umphlet for me myself my Heirs Executors and Administrators forever do
covenant Promise and Grant to and with the said Abraham Harmon his heirs
and assigns forever that before the ensoaling hereof I am the true Sole and
Lawfull Owner of the above bargained premises and have in myself good right
full Power and Lawfull Authority to Grant bargain Sell convey and confirm
the said bargained Premises in manner as above said, and that the said
Abraham Harmon his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at
all times forever hereafter by force and Virtue of these presents Peasibly
and quietly have hold use occupy poss(e)ss and Enjoy the said devised and
bargained premises with all the appurtenances priviledges and comodities to
the same belonging or in any wise appertaining free and clear freely and
clearly aquited Exonerated and discharged of and from all other gifts
grants bargains Sales mortuages wills Intails Tointers Doweries Judgements
Executions Incumbrances and Extents Furthermore I the said Job Umphlet for
me myself my heirs Executors and Administrators do covenant and Engage the
above demised Premises unto him the said Abraham Harmon his heirs and
assigns forever against the Lawfull Claims or Demands of any persons or
persons whatsoever forever hereafter to exerant devise and defend. In
Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Twenty first day
of December one Thousand Seven Seven hundred and Ninty Six and in the
Twentyeth year of Independence
