All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Virginia Crilley varcsix@hot.rr.com http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/bertie.htm North Carolina Bertie County Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Veal, of the state and county aforesaid for and in consideration of the Love and Goodwill which I have and do bear in mind toward my loving son, Maurice Veal, in the State and County aforesaid containing by estimation one hundred and fifty seven [157] and one quarter acres be the same more or less, butted and bounded as follows: Beginning at a dead pine William Veal's corner thence N 64 1/2 W to a post oak in said Thomas Veal's line Then along the said line 24 S to a Red Oak Thomas Veal's corner Thence along the sd Thomas Veal's other line N50 W 121 pol to a pine Elizabeth Turnstalls corner Thence along her line N54 E 90 pol to a pine, a corner in Mrs. Turnstall's line Then E 116 pol to a water oad in Levy Wimberly Jurn line Then S 6E to two pines in William Gardner's line Thence along said line S 33 1/2 W to the first station. to have and to hold the said given land and premises with all the appurtenances, privileges & commodities to the same belonging or in any otherwise appertaining to the heirs the said Maurice Veal, his heirs and assigns forever as heirs and his only proper use benefit and behoof forever, and I, the said Thomas Veal for myself, my heirs, executors & administrators do covenant, grant to and with the said Maurice Veal, his heirs, and assigns forever that before the ensealing hereof, I am the true sole and lawful owner of the above given premises and air lawfully seized and possessed of the same in my own proper right as a good and perfect and absolute of my inheritance of or in fee simple and have in myself a good right full power and lawful authority to grant or to give or to convey and confirm the said given premises in manner as above and that the said Maurice Veal, his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents peaceably and quietly have hold and occupy & possess & enjoy the said given and demied & given premises with all the appurtenances free and clear freely and clearly aquited, exonerated & discharged from & all manner of all forever right gifts, grants, bargains, sales, mortgages will entails, jointure, dowries, judgments, executions, incumbrances & cotants furthermore I, the said Thomas Veal for myself, my heirs, executors, and administratord so covenant, promise & engage the above penised premises unto him the said Maurice Veal, his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claim or claims of any person or person whatsoever, forever, hereafter to warrant & defend.
