All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Virginia Crilley varcsix@hot.rr.com http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/bertie.htm Bertie Co North Carolina Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Veal, of the state and county aforesaid for and in consideration of the Love and Goodwill which I have and do bear in mind towards my loving son, Richard Veal, in the State and County aforesaid one message tract of landy lying and being in the state & county aforesaid containing by estimation forty four acres [44] be the same more or less, butted and bounded as follows: Beginning at Maple Hills & Isaac Gardner's corner thence along said Gardners line S70 E 79 pol to a beach in said Line Thence S 20 W 107 poles to the center of two gums and a maple in the back line of Gardners pattern Then along the patern line W 35 pole to a Cypress in Hill's line Then along line N 179 pole to the first station to have and to hold the said given land & premises with all the appurtenances priviledges and commodities to thes same belonging or in any otherwise appertaining to him the said Richar Veal, his heris & assigns forever ot him and his only use beenfit & behoof forever & I the said Thomas Veal for myself my heirs, Executors & Administrators do covenant & grant to and with the said Richard Veal his heirs and assigns forever that before the err sealing hereof I am the tur sole and lawful owner of the given premises and are lawfully siezed & possessed of the same in my own proper right & a good & perfect & absolute estate of my Inheritance of or in fee simply & have in myself a good rightful power & lawful authority to grant & to give or convey & confirm the said given premises in manner above & that the said Richard Veal his heirs & assigns shall and may from time to time & at all times forever hereafter by force & virtue of these presents peacibly and quietly have hold & occupy & posses & enjoy the said devised & given premises with all the appurtenance free & clear freely and clearly aquited exonerated & discharge from all and all manner of former rights, gift, trants bargains sales mortgages will entails jointures juraments, executions, incumbrances and extants. Furthermore, I the said Thomas Veal for myself my heirs executors & administrators do covenant & engage the above devised premises untl him the said Richard Veal, his heirs and assign forever the lawful claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever forever hereafter to warrant & deferred In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this tenth day of Nov in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred.
