All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by "Neil Baker" http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/bertie.htm North Carolina Bertie County Know all men by these Presents that I Mordecai White of the County and Province aforesaid Planter, for & in Consideration of the sum of One Pound Ten Shillings to me in hand paid before the Ensealing & delivery here by Mede White of the County and Province aforesaid Planter, Do give, grant, Bargain, Sell, Alien Convey and confirm to him the said Mede White his heirs and Assigns for ever one Sertain Tract of Land Containing One Hundred Acres more or Less, Situate lying & being on Pelmell Pocoson, Beginning at a White Oak thence along a Line of marked Trees to a Pine, then to a White Oak & up a small Branch to the first Station. To have and to hold the above granted and bargaind Premisses with all Appurtenances--Priviledges and Commoditys to the same belonging or in any wae appertaining to him the said Mede White his heirs and Assigns for ever. And further the said Mordecai White do covenant Promise and grant to and with the said Mede White his Heirs and Assigns for ever that before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof I am the true sole and Lawfull Owner of the above granted and Bargaind Premisses and am Lawfully Seized and Possessed of the same on my own Proper Right and Absolute Estate and Inheritance on fee simple, and further the said Mordecai White do being myself my heirs and admons to Warrant & Defend the said Land and Premisses unto him the said Mede White his heirs and Assigns forever against the Lawfull claims of any Person or Persons whatsoever free and clear & freely and Clearly from all manner of Incrumbrances of what kind or Nature whatsoever.
