North Carolina, To all people to whom these presents shall come I James WILLIAMS 
in Bertie prec in the County of Albermarle planter send greeting Know yee I ye 
said James WILLIAMS for and in consideration of the sum of ten piuns to me in hand 
paid at and before ye ensealing and delivery of these presents by Robt HOG of the 
same precinct and county afresaid the receipt whereof doe fully freely clearly and 
absolutely give grant bargain sell alien enseal? release convay and confirm unto 
the sd Robt HOG his heirs and asigns forever al that my plantation or tract of 
land situate lying in Bertie Prec and county aforesaid containing by estimation 
three hundred and eighty acres be the same more or less beginning at the mouth of 
a small branch on Roquis so turning up the branch to Henry OVERSTREET line, thence 
along sd Henry's line to the corner a red so & wt 200 pole to a sweet gum red & 
white oak then so 75 et 96 pole to a gum on Roquis thence along Roquis to ye first 
station.

Together with all houses out houses orchards gardens wood underwoods and all other 
premises with ye appurtenance to ye sd plantation or tract of land belonging or in 
any wise apportaining. To have and to hold ye sd plantation or tract of land 
containing three hundred and eight acres more or less with all privledges and 
appertainances thereunto belonging unto ye sd Robt HOG his heirs and assigns 
forever to his and their only sold benefit and behoof forever and I the sd James 
WILLIAMS at ye time of the ensealing and delivery of these presents lawfully 
possessed of the said plantation or tract of land with its appurtanances in fee 
simple and have in myself good right full power and lawfull authority to sell and 
dispose thereof inmanner as aforesaid me James being freely and clearly acquited 
exonerated and discharge of and from all manner of former and other gifts grants, 
bargains sales leases releases quit claims and all other incumbrances whatsoever 
and further the sd James WILLIAMS doe for himself his heirs Exe and Adm covenant 
promise-grant and agree to warrant and forever defend the sd plantation or tract 
of land with the appurtances thereunto belonging unto the sd Robt HOGH his heirs 
and assigns forever & ye lawfull claim and demand of all and every other person or 
persons whatsoever, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 
day of Anno Domo 1726    James WILLIAMS
