Witnesseth that the said WILLIAM WILSON, for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty Pounds lawfull money of England to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof the said WILLIAM WILSON doth hereby acknowledge, and thereof and every part and parcel thereof doth acquit, exonerate and discharge the said THOMAS HOLDER, his heirs, Executors, administrators and assigns, and every of them forever hath given, granted, bargained, sold, aliened, Enfeoffed [enfeoff = to make a gift of any corporeal hereditaments to another], Released and Confirmed; and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, Enfeoff, Remise and Remise and Release and forever makeover and confirm unto the said THOMAS HOLDER his heirs and assigns a Tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and sixty acres, be the same more or less, situate in Bertie County on the East side of Cashy Swamp butted and bounded as follows: Beginning at the mouth of Poplar Branch thence up the said Branch a north course to the head line, thence along the head line to the said WILLIAM WILSON's line, thence along his own line to the first station. To have and to hold the said land and all and singular the appurtenances, profits and hereditaments together with all woods, waters, trees, water courses, springs and fountains thereon contained and all priviledges thereto belonging unto him the said THOMAS HOLDER his heirs Executors administrators advisors and assigns forever; and the said WILLIAM WILSON doth for himself his heirs Executors and administrators covenant promise and grant to and with the said THOMAS HOLDER his heirs and assigns that the said WILLIAM WILSON at the time of the ensealing and delivery hereof is the true and lawfull owner of the said land and premises and hath in himself good, rightfull power and lawfull authority to grant bargain and sell the same in manner as aforesaid and that the said THOMAS HOLDER his heirs Executors administrators and assigns and every of them shall and may from time to time and at all times hereafter ~ Peacefully and Quietly have hold use occupy posess and enjoy the said land and premises with the appurtenances without any set, suit, trouble, disturbance or interruption of him the said WILLIAM WILSON his heirs Executors or administrators or any of them or any other person or persons claiming from by or under him or them or any of them, and that the said parcel or tract of land at the day and date hereof is and so shall and may forever hereafter, remain continue and be unto him the said THOMAS HOLDER his heirs and assigns forever free and freely clear and clearly acquitted exonerated and discharged of and from all manner of former and other gifts, grants, bargains, sales, leases, wills, intails, rents and arreariges of rents, widdows dowers and all other incumbrances whatsoever; and the said WILLIAM WILSON for himself his heirs executors and administrators do covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said THOMAS HOLDER in manner and form following, that is to say that he the said THOMAS HOLDER and his heirs shall and will at the reasonable request of and at the proper cost and charges of him the said THOMAS HOLDER at any time or times when thereunto lawfully demanded make acknowledge perform and execute or cause or suffer to be made ~ acknowledged performed and executed all and every such act and acts deed and deeds which the said THOMAS HOLDER his heirs executors administrators or assigns or his or their Council learned in the Law shall be advised or required for the further and better assuring and sure making and establishing the said land unto him the said THOMAS HOLDER his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever.
