Witnesseth that the said Samuel WILLIAMS for and in consideration of the sum of twenty and one pound ? money of Virginia to him in hand already paid and satisfied, have given granted, bargained, sold, aliened, released and confirmed and by these present doth absolutely give, grant, bargain sell, alien release, ensecss, and confirm unto the said WILLIAM RUFFIN, his heirs and assing forever, a certain tract of land containing (160 acres) one hundred and sixty acres be more or less with a plantation with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging situated lying and being on the: North side of MORATTOCK RIVER on the LONG MEADOW within the precinct aforesaid. Bounded from the mouth of a SMALL below the said plantation up (+y) branch to the head to the OLD TRADING POST PATH to a marked white oak. Then by a line of marked trees to the headline to a marked white oak, Then WESTERLY to CLEMMON STRADFORD'S line (n y) down his line to the head of a BRANCH above the said plantation (n y) down that branch to the MOUTH, then down (e y) MEADOW to the place begun And that is part of a tract of land formerly granted to RICHARD MILTON for 640 acres dated the 1st day of April 1723. To have and to hold ye said land and all and singular the possesses and all the conveniences thereunto belonging or appertaining unto the said WILLIAM RUFFIN, hiw heirs and assigns forever, in a pure, large and indessissabke manner as the same was granted to the said MILTON by the PATENT aforesaid.
