I do not know where the original documents are recorded. The photocopies I received were faint and difficult to read in some places. I hope these are of use or interest to someone researching in this jurisdiction. ­ jml] No. 311 Thomas HANNERS Power to Draw Henry HANNERS Bounty land = 640 [acres] [The preceding is written on sleeve of document] State of Virginia, Princes[s] Ann[e] County: Know all men by these presents that I, Thomas HANNERS, of the State and County afore said, one of the only heirs to Henry HANNERS a Continental Soldier in the old revolutionary war and in the NoCarolina line, Do authorize Constitute and appoint my friends William HARREL or Darling CHERRY to apply and Draw a Military Land Warrant for the services of him the said Henry HANNERS, soldier of afore said, and do every other thing touching said Business in every respect manner and form as if I was at the doing of it my self Personally. RHODES, Clerk of the Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions for said County do hereby Certify that the Within Power of attorney was proved (^ in open court) by the oaths of Lawrence CHERRY & Asham [sic] ANDERSON the subscribing witnesses thereto— I also Certify that a true Copy of the Within Power of attorney is filed in my office. Given under my hand & Seal of office at Windsor 14th Feb. 1820 & in the 44th year of American Independence, E. A. RHODES [L.S.], clk.. State of NoCarolina, Camden County: Personally appeared before me Major Joseph FEREBEE and made Oath in due form that Thomas HANNERS is one of the persons Properally entitled to a Military Land Warrant for the services of Henry HANNERS, a Continental Soldier in the old revolutionary war and in the NoCarolina line. [L.S.] State of North Carolina: I, Malachi SAWYER, Clerk of the Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions for the County of Camden do hereby Certify that Thomas MERCER & Willis NELSON whose names are subscribed to the foregoing certificate of the Credulity of Joseph FEREBEE, are acting Justices of the Peace in & for the County aforesaid and that all due faith and credit should be given to their signatures as Such. [L.S.] [new page:] North Carolina: In obedience to an Act of the General Assembly of 1819, entitled "An Act concerning Military land Warrants" and acting under the authority & powers invested in us by the Same, We have this day acted on the Claims of the following persons, viz: Robert GREGORY, Henry HANNERS, John ROGERS, James BUTTRAM[?], and William HOOD, late soldiers of the Continental or United States Army and Line of this State, and recommend and direct that the Secretary of State issue __ _____ of each of the Soldiers above named who may be still living and to the Heirs of those of them who are dead, Land Warrants for Six hundred and forty Acres each (640 Acres): — The Claims of Jeremiah CLEGHORN?, a Sergeant in the said Line; and of Peter MORRIS[ON?] a Corporal in the Same, having been W___ic soted[?] in[?] & pressed[?] upon; The Secretary of State is directed to issue to each of the said Claimants a Land Warrant for One Thousand Acres each (1000 Acres); — And the Claims of James RUNNELS and William COOPER having been in like manner soted[?] in[?] and pressed upon, The Secretary of this State is ordered[?] and directed to issue to the Said James RUNNELS a Land Warrant for Two hundred and seventy[?] four[?] acres (274[?] Acres) and to the said William COOPER a Land WARRANT for Four[?] hundred and twenty eight Acres of Land.
