Thurs., June 18, 1807, Raleigh Minerva June 18, 1807
A Duel was fought on Thursday morning last, at Somerton, Nansemond County, 
Va., between GEORGE CLIFTON and PRENTIS LAW, ESQS., both of Windsor, N. C., 
when at the first fire the former gentleman was shot in the side – the ball 
was immediately extracted, and hopes are entertained for his recovery.
