All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carolyn Shank Carolynshank@msn.com March 28, 2008, 3:10 pm Tuesday Dec. 15, 1812 Edenton Gazette December 15, 1812 -- On Thursday last, ZADOCK HAST, JOSEPH LAWRENCE and MILES ROLLINS, [all of Bertie County*], three of the Deserters belonging to the 10th Regiment, advertised in the paper of this Town on the 8th inst., were brought into Town and delivered to ENSIGN JONES, the only officer at this post at present. The Sheriff refusing to receive them into gaol, unless legally committed, they were suffered to range at large, and the two first effected their escape.
