He was George Douglas, 112 year old negro, well- known and well-respected among both races. "Uncle George" as he was known, lived in what is known as the Miller farm for 90 years. He was a loyal old negro, whom everybody liked and held greatest esteem for. It was said of Uncle George that he had never had a lawsuit in any court in the county, nor had he ever been a witness in court. He lived with his kindred, Rev. Bat Speller, on Highway 96?, between Windsor and Williamston. Uncle George is survived by one son, Sam Douglas, and many grandchildren.
