Three days ago the body of an old farmer named Nathaniel Modlin, living near Powellsville, who mysteriously disappeared on the 9th of April, was found buried in the woods near his home. An examination of the body showed that the man had been hanged, and the skull was fractured in two places. Suspicion pointed to W.B. Styron, the stepson of Modlin, as the murdered and he was arrested and lodged in jail at Windsor. At the coroner's inquest the evidence was very damaging against Stryron.
