Aug. 29, 1857, North Carolina Argus August 29, 1857 We regret to learn from a letter in the Petersburg Express, dated Murfreesboro, N. C., Aug. 20, that MR. STARK A. SUTTON, a son of CAPT. WILLIAM T. SUTTON of Bertie was shot on the railroad recently, and his arm shattered. It seems that a vile pickpocket on the cars was atempting to rob young SUTTON, who had gone South with the view of buying a plantation, and being detected in the act by SUTTON, the alarm was given; the thief being tightly held by S., drew a pistol and shot SUTTON, shattering his harm. Releasing him thus, the villian suddenly disappeared, nor has been heard from since. -- CAPT. SUTTON has gone to the assistance of his son.
