RUTH EARL SNIPES FOWLER

Mrs. Ruth Snipes Fowler, 71, widow of Hersey M. Fowler Sr., died Monday at noon 
in Southampton Memorial Hospital after illness of several weeks.
A native of Roxobel, N.C., she was a daughter of John R. and Mrs. Sarah Harris 
Snipes.
She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Laffoon of Indianapolis, Mrs. Ruby 
Pierce of Suffolk and Miss Lelia Mae Fowler of Franklin; three sons, Herbert 
Fowler and Hersey M. Fowler Jr. of Franklin and Joseph Lee Fowler of Baltimore; 
a brother John T. Snipes of Richmond; three sisters, Mrs. Maude Gunn and Mrs. 
Mamie Cotton and Mrs. Ava Pendleton of Richmond; and six grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons 
Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist.
Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
