Bertie COUNTY NC Obits Mrs. Frances Gilliam File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Jvosper489@cs.com Jim Vosper http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/bertie.htm >From the Biblical Recorder for September 4, 1856. (From film at the NC Baptist Archives at Wake Forest Univ. at Winston-Salem, NC) On Monday the 11th inst., at Oxford, in the 21st year of her age, Mrs. Frances Gilliam, wife of Thomas Gilliam, of Bertie County, and daughter of W. H. Jordan and Elizabeth Jordan deceased. It will no doubt be interesting to the relatives and friends of the deceased to be informed of some of the particulars of her happy death. For their satisfaction, therefore, and to the praise of sovereign grace, I record the wonderful goodness of the Lord to her in the closing scenes of life. She had not professed a hope in the Saviour before her last sickness; though her mind had been seriously exercised on the subject of religion. On Saturday evening, the 9th inst., she said to her sister she wished all to leave the room but her father. Note: I'm sorry but this is all I photocopied.
