John Nowell,

Born in Hertford County, 1803--Died, 1859, Age, 56

He was baptized at Coleraine [Bertie Co.] by Elder Delke in 1832 and was
ordained in 1835 as pastor of Coleraine church, which station he voluntarily
resigned the year before he died. He was also pastor of Ahoskie church for
twenty-three years, and of Pleasant Grove church for several years, also of
Bethlehem and Holly Grove. He drew his support principally from his farm.
